| Forrest Lodge is located 6 miles from the community of Armstrong Station, which is at the end of Highway 527. Armstrong is mostly a native community with the White Sands reserve adjacent to Armstrong. There is a Health Clinic, Can Op Mini Mart, 2 restaurants and 2 motels. There is a general store that has a selection of grocery items, LCBO and beer. There is a Canada Post, OPP and Ambulance service. There are numerous fly in lodges based just south of town. Forrest Lodge is on Caribou Lake which is 23000 acres of Canadian shield lake. It sits on a 9 acre peninsula .There are 2 other lodges on the lake, one being a boat in with no modern conveniences and the other a drive in with 4 small rental units. There are 2 private camps on the lake owned by locals and a small settlement of 4 cabins at the very north end of the lake owned by several American families that visit 2-3 times a year. Directly across the bay is a private cabin owned by an American that visits regularly and is serviced by Forrest Lodge. There is an electric cable across the bay to this cabin and they park here and access the home from the docks at Forrest Lodge
